Illegal Indian Immigrants- The US military aircraft C-17 Globemaster reached Guru Ravidas International Airport in Amritsar on Wednesday at around 1 pm with 104 illegal Indian immigrants. It also had 11 crew members and 45 US officials. The plane had 30 people from Punjab, 33 each from Haryana and Gujarat.
According to the security officials of Amritsar airport, these illegal Indian immigrants were verified. After clearance from immigration and customs, they were handed over to Punjab Police. The people deported from Punjab were sent to their homes in police vehicles.
Out of these 104 illegal Indian immigrants, 48 are below 25 years of age. 13 are minors, including a 4-year-old child. Some of the people who reached Amritsar were taken to their villages in police vehicles. The rest of the people from the state were sent by flight. All of them will never be able to go to 20 countries including America.
America Sent Military Aircraft For the First Time.
This US military aircraft left for San Antonio, America at 3 am on February 4, according to Indian time. This is the first time that America used a military aircraft to send illegal Indian immigrants. After about 3 and a half hours, the US Air Force aircraft returned.
Earlier, different reports claimed that America has marked a total of 205 illegal Indians Immigrants for deportation. They will be sent to India. A list of 186 Indians to be deported was also revealed. It is not yet clear where the remaining people are and when they will be deported.
After assuming the post of US President, Trump had ordered the deportation of outsiders living illegally. Sending Globemaster to India has cost about Rs 6 crore. This is about six times more than a chartered flight.
PM Modi Will Go to America on February 12.
According to US Immigration and Custom Enforcement, 19 thousand illegal Indian immigrants will be deported. Trump has taken this action at a time when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to America on a two-day visit on February 12. PM’s talks with Trump are scheduled on February 13.
Meanwhile, Punjab’s NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal went to Amritsar Airport and met the deported people of Punjab. After which he said- PM Narendra Modi says that American President Donald Trump is his friend. He also went to campaign for him. He should meet Trump and find a solution to this.
Will They be Able to Go to America Again?
Biometric scans of all of these illegal Indian Immigrants have been taken. In the future, if they try to go to America even with valid documents, they will not get a visa. They will not be able to go to 20 other countries including Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Britain, because about 20 countries follow America’s visa policy.
Will There be Any Case Against These Illegal Indian Immigrants Here?
The police will investigate how these illegal immigrants reached America. There may be some among them who went to America on tourist visas and started living there illegally. There will be no case against them in India, because they committed the crime on American soil, not on Indian soil.
The police will also investigate whether they fled to America after committing a crime in India or reached America with the help of a human trafficking gang. In such cases, legal action will be taken against them.
What Can be The Punishment if a Case is Registered?
It depends on the sections of each case and the type of case. Punishment and fine from 1 to 7 years is possible. Four types of legal action can be taken.
1. If the passport has been tampered with or destroyed, action can be taken as per Citizenship Act 1955 and Passport Act 1967.
2. If money was given to human traffickers through hawala to reach them through the donkey route, then ED can take action under Income Tax Act 1961.
3. If money or property was taken out of India illegally after fleeing from India, then action can be taken under the Customs Act 1962.
4. Action can be taken against those who illegally cross the Indian border and flee to another country under the provisions of the Immigration Act 1983.
About 7 Lakh Illegal Indian Immigrants in America
According to the Pew Research Center, by the year 2023, there are more than 7 lakh illegal Indian immigrants in America. This is the highest after Mexico and El Salvador. According to the government organization (ICE) dealing with illegal immigrants in America, an average of 90 thousand Indian citizens have been caught trying to enter illegally in the last 3 years.
A large part of these immigrants are coming from Punjab, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
Between 1990-2017, The Number of Immigrants Increased by 110 Percent
According to the Pew Research Center Report, in 1990, there were 2.33 crore immigrants in America, while in 2017 this figure reached 4.98 crore. That is, the number of immigrants in America increased by 110 percent. At the same time, according to the data of the year 2023, it has come down to 4.78 crore.
Trump Government Detained 25 Thousand Illegal Immigrants in 11 days
Trump was sworn in as President on January 20. Within 11 days, more than 25 thousand illegal immigrants were detained. Trump’s ICE team (Immigration and Custom Enforcement) carried out raids in 12 states.
During this period, incidents of infiltration from the Mexican border have decreased by 94%. During Biden’s tenure, between January 1 and January 19 this year, an average of 2087 incidents of infiltration took place every day, whereas after Trump, from January 20 to January 31, an average of only 126 incidents of infiltration took place every day.
