LOC Ceasefire Violation- Pakistan’s ceasefire violation in the Krishna Ghati sector occurred a day after an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion, suspected to be triggered by terrorists, killed two Indian Army personnel, including a captain, near the LoC in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district.

On Wednesday, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by opening unprovoked fire on Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting a strong retaliatory response from the Indian Army, according to security officials.
The extent of damage on the Pakistani side was not immediately clear, but officials indicated that the enemy forces suffered ‘heavy casualties.’ However, the Indian Army neither confirmed nor denied these reports.
The ceasefire violation in the Krishna Ghati sector occurred a day after two Indian Army personnel, including a captain, lost their lives in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near the LoC in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district, allegedly triggered by suspected terrorists.
Ceasefire violations along the LoC have been rare since India and Pakistan reaffirmed their ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021.
According to officials, Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked firing on a forward post in the Tarkundi area along the LoC, prompting a strong retaliatory response from the Indian Army, which reportedly inflicted ‘heavy casualties’ on the enemy forces.
A video, though undated, is circulating on social media, showing a Pakistani army officer paying final respects to fallen soldiers.
Meanwhile, officials reported that a junior commissioned officer (JCO) of the Indian Army sustained minor injuries after accidentally stepping on a landmine in the same sector this evening.
The JCO, a resident of Mendhar, was part of a patrolling unit monitoring the LoC to prevent terrorist infiltration. He was promptly evacuated to a military hospital for treatment, officials added.
Officials reported that the situation along the LoC remains tense due to a surge in hostile activities from across the border over the past week.

This marked the first ceasefire violation of the year and the fourth cross-border incident within five days.
On Monday, a soldier was struck by a bullet fired from across the border while stationed at a forward post in the Kalal area of the Nowshera sector in Rajouri district. Additionally, on February 8, an Army patrol came under terrorist fire from a forested area across the LoC in Rajouri’s Keri sector. The terrorists were seemingly waiting for an opportunity to infiltrate into Indian territory.
During the night of February 4-5, a landmine explosion reportedly caused casualties among terrorists attempting to infiltrate into Indian territory from across the LoC in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district.
On February 10, Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, reviewed ‘hostile activities’ along the LoC in Rajouri district.
According to an Army post on X, the GOC of White Knight Corps, along with the GOCs of the Ace of Spades and Crossed Swords divisions, visited forward areas in the Rajouri sector for an operational update on the prevailing security situation and recent hostile activities.
A post shared by the White Knight Corps on its official social media accounts stated that the corps commander praised all ranks for their vigilance and unwavering operational focus.
The Army also mentioned that he encouraged them to stay prepared for any contingencies.
Was Pakistan Army helping to terrorist to infiltrate in India
Experts are saying that the Pakistani army has a long history of diversion tactics. The Pakistani army does fire on LOC to help infiltrators to cross the line of control. This time they violated the LOC ceasefire agreement 2020 which was agreed between two nations after abrogation of article 370 from Kashmir in August 2019.
