Arvind Kejriwal Lost Election- Delhi election results came out yesterday, BJP has crossed the majority mark and defeated AAP. BJP has won 48 seats out of 70 in this Delhi assembly election 2025. Top AAP leaders including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia lost, while current Delhi CM Atishi won by a narrow margin from Kalkaji Seat.
The BJP’s exile of more than 26 years is now over as it is now in power in the national capital Delhi. 8 February 2025 is one of the historic dates for Indian politics as a major change is being witnessed today.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lost Delhi, but the most shocking thing was the defeat of its convener Arvind Kejriwal and his number 2 Manish Sisodia. Their defeat indicates a major change in the sentiments of voters towards the party.

Arvind Kejriwal Lost Election:
Aam Aadmi Party national convener and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal lost election to BJP’s Parvesh Verma by over 4,000 votes in New Delhi assembly seat. This is a great achievement for Verma, who is a two-time MP from West Delhi and son of former BJP leader and Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma.
Arvind kejriwal lost election because he had not fulfilled the promises of clean water supply, 24 hours of electricity , reducing garbage issue in Delhi, Clean air and many more.
Arvind Kejriwal lost election because of other reasons as well. experts saying that people were angry from kejriwal because he was not visible or available in his constituency in last 5 years.
Manish Sisodia Lost Election:
Sisodia, former Delhi deputy chief minister and one of the most prominent leaders of AAP, has lost to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah in Jangpura. Sisodia, deputy chief minister and a three-time MLA from Patparganj in east Delhi, contested from Jangpura in this election. Marwah won the Jangpura seat by securing 38,859 votes. The special thing is that the margin of victory was only 675 votes.
Satyendra Jain Lost Election:
Satyendra Jain was arrested in a money laundering case in 2022, lost the election from Shakur Basti assembly constituency. BJP candidate Karnail Singh won the election. According to the Election Commission website, Karnail Singh won by a margin of 20998 votes. Singh got 56,869 votes while Satyendra Jain got 35871 votes.
Durgesh Pathak Lost Election:
Durgesh Pathak, one of the most prominent leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, lost the Delhi Assembly elections from Rajendra Nagar seat by 1231 votes. He was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party’s Umang Bajaj, who got 46,671 votes. He won the seat in the 2022 by-election and was re-nominated this time.
Saurabh Bhardwaj Lost Election:
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Health Minister in the current Delhi government Saurabh Bhardwaj lost to BJP’s Shikha Roy from Greater Kailash Assembly seat. Saurabh was a big face leader and very close to arvind kejriwal in the Aam Aadmi Party. He had won in the
2020 Delhi assembly election from Greater Kailash Assembly seat with good margins. But he failed to deliver on the promises he made and that’s why this time voters decided to elect him again.
Somnath Bharti Lost Election:
After news comes that Arvind Kejriwal lost election, The Somnath Bharti’s streak of winning three times in a row was broken this time. He lost from Malviya Nagar seat by about 2100 votes. He was defeated by BJP’s Satish Upadhyay, who got 39,564 votes. Somnath Bharti has held the seat since winning it for the first time in 2013.
Arvind Kejriwal Lost Election- Will Arvind Kejriwal Go to Jail Again?
After Arvind kejriwal lost election in Delhi, there are several media reports suggesting that AAP’s national convener & Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal might have to face jail again in the Delhi excise policy scam case.

In a media talk, BJP leader Yogendra Chandaulia said that Arvind Kejriwal will go to Tihar again as soon as the BJP government is formed in national capital Delhi.
He also said that Arvind kejriwal was involved in the delhi excise liquor policy scam case and Arvind Kejriwal is out on bail by supreme court. But after the Delhi election he might have to go to jail again.
