Budget 2025- The budget session of Parliament has begun. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the budget for the financial year 2025-26 today. The first phase of the budget session of Parliament began on January 31, 2025 and it will end on February 13, 2025.

The Union Budget is an important document that lays down the roadmap for the economy and its various sectors for the upcoming financial year. This budget is coming at a time when the country’s GDP growth is slowing down. In such a situation, it is believed that the government may make many new announcements in the budget, including income tax exemption.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Speaking:
- 10000 more seats for medical students in various colleges and universities in next 3 years.
- Day care cancer centers in all district hospitals in next 3 years PAN India.
- Social security for gig workers. ID cards and registration on e-Shram will be provided. health care under Jan Aroyga, 1 crore gig workers will benefit from it.
- India Post along with the Payment Bank will be repositioned.
- MSME: 2.5 time Credit limit hike for MSMEs.
- Better credit Sop to start-ups And for export MSMEs.
- More credit to Micro firms – credit card with 5 lakh limit.
- National manufacturing mission will be set-up to further make in India progress.
- Atal Tinkering Labs will be set-up in schools in every state and districts- 5 lakh INR in schools to push innovation among the students.
- 5 trillion Indian rupees for 50 year interest free loans to states for Capex and reform.
- Urban reforms Challenge fund – 1 trillion to implement cities as growth hub Finance unto 25% of bankable projects, 50% must be funded from bonds, banks and PPP.
- Power sector – incentives for electricity distribution pipelines by states
- Nuclear energy – Plan and budget allocations for 100 GW by 2047 for energy security. 5 Indigenous Nuclear Reactors will be deployed by 2033.
- Modified Udaan scheme for regional connectivity. Target of 4 crore additional passengers in next 10 years. Support smaller airports and helicopters. Greenfield airports for Bihar (3rd proposal for Bihar)
- Another fund for helping finish housing projects- 15,000 crore. Another 1 lakh units to be completed.
- Makhana Board will be setup in Bihar to promote Makhana Farming in Bihar region.
- 20000 Cr allocated for innovations in R&D Centers, colleges & universities.
- Up to 2 Cr Interest Free Credits for Women entrepreneur in core industries.

- Indirect taxes . remove 7 tariff rates
- Only 8 tariff rates left.
- Not more than 1 cess or surcharge.
- 82 tariff lines removed from cess.
- TDS – rates and thresholds to be reduced 50000 to 1 lakh, TDS threshold for senior citizen.
- TDS on rent hiked to 6 lakh TCS – 7 to 10 lakh hiked removed for education where loan is taken.
